Chapter 01
A return duct nobody has opened usually holds more than dust, and a filter change does not fix that.
Open a return duct that has never been serviced and the surprise is rarely just dust. Mold, fungi, bacteria and ordinary dust all build up inside ductwork over time, and none of that shows up when you swap the filter at the furnace. A filter catches what is moving through the airstream at that moment. It does nothing for what is already sitting on the inside of the duct itself.
That is the gap duct cleaning closes. It is a mechanical job: the duct gets opened through an access point, cleaned out, and closed back up, not a chemical treatment and not a one-time spray. We work the return runs, the supply runs, and the equipment itself, since a clean furnace behind a dirty duct system is only half the job.

Beyond cleaning the existing ductwork, we install the equipment that changes what runs through it going forward: air purifiers, global plasma solutions built into the air handler, humidifiers and dehumidifiers to hold the house at a steadier humidity, and whole-home ventilation systems where the house needs fresh air brought in rather than just recirculated.
Which of those makes sense depends on the house, not a standard package. A tight new-construction home with little natural air exchange is a different job from an older DeKalb house with a damp crawlspace. We look at the specific building before we recommend equipment for it.
Chapter 03
What actually changes in the house afterwards.
After a cleaning, the most noticeable difference is usually at the vents themselves: less dust settling back out of the supply registers, and a duct system that is not still carrying years of buildup around the house every time the blower runs. Equipment additions like a whole-home dehumidifier show up as a house that holds a steadier humidity level through a DeKalb summer instead of swinging with the weather outside.
We do not make claims about illness or allergies. What we can tell you is what was in the duct before we opened it, what changed once it was cleaned out, and what the added equipment is doing mechanically: air moved, humidity held, particulate filtered. The rest is a question for a doctor, not an HVAC contractor.
